YUDDHA KANDA•SARGA: 59•SHLOKA: 41
स सायकार्तो विपरीतचेताः कूजन् पृथिव्यां निपपात वीरः ।
तं प्रेक्ष्य भूमौ पतितं विसञ्ज्ञं नेदुः प्रहृष्टा युधि यातुधानाः ॥६-५९-४१॥
sa sāyakārto viparītacetāḥ kūjan pṛthivyāṃ nidhapāta vīraḥ |
taṃ prekṣya bhūmau patitaṃ visaṃjñaṃ neduḥ prahṛṣṭā yudhi yātudhānāḥ ॥6-59-41॥
Translation
Afflicted by the arrow, that hero (Sugriva), bewildered and groaning, fell to the earth. Seeing him fallen unconscious on the ground, the demons shouted with joy in the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बाण से पीड़ित होकर वह वीर (सुग्रीव) व्याकुल चित्त से कराहता हुआ पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा। उसे पृथ्वी पर बेसुध पड़ा देखकर युद्ध में राक्षस (यातुधान) हर्षित होकर गर्जना करने लगे।
English Commentary
Sugriva's fall was a major blow to the monkey army. 'Viparitachetah' (bewildered/unconscious) indicates his critical condition. The demons' joy is natural as they had downed the enemy king.

सुग्रीव का गिरना वानर सेना के लिए बड़ा झटका था। 'विपरीतचेताः' (बेसुध/व्याकुल) शब्द उनकी गंभीर स्थिति को दर्शाता है। राक्षसों का हर्षित होना स्वाभाविक है क्योंकि उन्होंने शत्रु राजा को गिरा दिया था।
