तस्य च्छिद्राणि मार्गस्व स्वच्छिद्राणि च लक्षय ।
चक्षुषा धनुषा यत्नाद्रक्षात्मानं समाहितः ॥६-५९-५०॥
tasya cchidrāṇi mārgasva svacchidrāṇi ca lakṣaya |
cakṣuṣā dhanuṣā yatnādrakṣyātmānaṃ samāhitaḥ ॥6-59-50॥
Translation
Seek out his weak points and watch over your own weak points. Protect yourself diligently and attentively with your eye and your bow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसके छिद्रों (कमजोरियों) को ढूँढ़ना और अपने छिद्रों पर नजर रखना। नेत्र और धनुष के द्वारा यत्नपूर्वक और सावधान होकर अपनी रक्षा करना।
English Commentary
This is a tactical lesson from a mentor to a disciple. Finding 'chidra' (weaknesses) and protecting oneself is the essence of combat. 'Chakshusha dhanusha' (with eye and bow) implies that both vision and aim must remain steady.

यह एक गुरु द्वारा शिष्य को दी गई युद्धनीति की सीख है। 'छिद्र' (कमजोरी) खोजना और अपनी रक्षा करना युद्ध का मूल मंत्र है। 'चक्षुषा धनुषा' (आँख और धनुष से) का अर्थ है कि नजर और निशाना दोनों सधे रहने चाहिए।
