पावकात्मजमालोक्य ध्वजाग्रे समुपस्थितम् ।
जज्वाल रावणः क्रोधात्ततो नीलो ननाद च ॥६-५९-८०॥
dhvajāgre dhanuṣaścāgre kirīṭāgre ca taṃ harim |
nipuṇaṃ caramāṇaṃ tu dadarśa rāvaṇe raṇe ॥6-59-80॥
Translation
Ravana saw that monkey moving skillfully in the battle—now on the tip of the flag, now on the tip of the bow, and now on the tip of his crown.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण ने युद्ध में उस वानर (नील) को कभी ध्वजा की नोक पर, कभी धनुष के अग्रभाग पर और कभी मुकुट की चोटी पर कुशलतापूर्वक विचरते हुए देखा।
English Commentary
Nila engages in a psychological and physical harassment of Ravana. By hopping from the flag to the bow to the crown ('kiritagre'), Nila is essentially mocking the Demon King. It demonstrates extreme agility and fearlessness. For Ravana, having a monkey standing on his head/crown is the ultimate insult to his royal dignity, intended to break his concentration and composure.

नील ने रावण को भ्रमित कर दिया। वे मक्खी या छोटे पक्षी की तरह रावण के शरीर और आयुधों पर फुदक रहे थे। कभी धनुष पर, कभी मुकुट पर—यह रावण के लिए अत्यंत अपमानजनक और झुंझलाने वाली स्थिति थी। 'निपुणं चरमाणं' (कुशलता से विचरते हुए) दिखाता है कि नील का संतुलन और गति अद्भुत थी। वे रावण के साथ खेल रहे थे।
