ध्वजाग्रे धनुषश्चाग्रे किरीटाग्रे च तं हरिम् ।
लक्ष्मणो ऽथ हनूमांश्च दृष्ट्वा रामश्च विस्मिताः ॥६-५९-८१॥
lāghavāccāpi nīlasya nardataścāpi rāvaṇaḥ |
visiṣmire ca harayo ye ca tatra vanaukasaḥ ॥6-59-81॥
Translation
Witnessing Nila's agility and Ravana roaring (in frustration), the monkeys and forest-dwellers present there were struck with wonder.
हिंदी अनुवाद
नील की इस फुर्ती (लाघव) को और रावण को गर्जना करते हुए देखकर, वहाँ उपस्थित वानर और वनवासी (भालू आदि) चकित रह गए।
English Commentary
The spectacle amazes the onlookers. 'Laghavat' (lightness/agility) refers to Nila's swift movements. The contrast between the agile, tiny Nila and the roaring, frustrated giant Ravana creates a scene of wonder ('visishmire'). It boosts the morale of the Vanara army to see the mighty Ravana unable to swat away their commander.

नील के इस कारनामे ने दर्शकों (वानर सेना) को विस्मित कर दिया। 'लाघव' (हस्तलाघव/फुर्ती) युद्ध में बहुत मायने रखता है। रावण का गर्जना उसकी हताशा को दिखा रहा था क्योंकि वह अपने शरीर पर बैठे शत्रु को मार नहीं पा रहा था। यह दृश्य वानर सेना के लिए मनोरंजन और उत्साह का स्रोत बन गया, क्योंकि उनका सेनापति रावण को नचा रहा था।
