Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आसाद्य रणमध्ये तु वारयित्वा स्थितो ज्वलन् ।
धनुर्विस्फारयामास कम्पयन्निव मेदिनीम् ॥६-५९-९३॥
āgaccha tiṣṭha me rājan adya me cakṣugocaraḥ |
mama bāṇavimuktastvaṃ na gamiṣyasi jīvitaḥ ॥6-59-93॥
Translation
Come, stand before me. O King! Once you have come within the range of my sight today, released (struck) by my arrows, you shall not depart alive.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आओ, मेरे सामने डटे रहो। हे राजन! आज मेरी आँखों के सामने (निशाने पर) आ जाने के बाद, मेरे बाणों से छूटकर तुम जीवित नहीं जाओगे।
English Commentary
The ultimatum. Lakshmana invites Ravana to stand and fight. He asserts that stepping into his line of sight ('cakshu-gocharah') is a death sentence. This mirrors Ravana's earlier threat but with the quiet confidence of righteousness rather than the loud arrogance of ego.

लक्ष्मण की चुनौती। वे रावण को भागने के बजाय लड़ने ('तिष्ठ') के लिए कहते हैं। लक्ष्मण का आत्मविश्वास देखिये—वे कहते हैं कि जो उनकी दृष्टि ('चक्षुगोचरः') में आ गया, उसका बचना असंभव है। यह केवल कोरी धमकी नहीं, बल्कि एक योद्धा का अपने कौशल पर अटूट विश्वास है।
