Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दिष्ट्या ऽसि मे राघव दृष्टिमार्गं प्राप्तो ऽन्तगामी विपरीतबुद्धिः ।
अस्मिन् क्षणे यास्यसि मृत्युदेशं संसाद्यमानो मम बाणजालैः ॥६-५९-९६॥
kṣaṇe yāsyasi mṛtyudeśaṃ saṃsādyamāno mama bāṇajālaiḥ |
tamāha saumitriravismayāno garjantamudvṛttasitāgradaṃṣṭram ॥6-59-96॥
Translation
(Ravana said) 'Entrapped by the net of my arrows, you shall go to the land of Death in a moment.' Then the son of Sumitra spoke without any amazement/fear to that roaring (Ravana) whose white teeth were protruding.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(रावण ने कहा)—'मेरे बाणों के जाल में फँसकर तुम क्षण भर में मृत्युलोक जाओगे।' तब सुमित्राकुमार ने उस गर्जना करते हुए और उभरी हुई सफेद दाढ़ों वाले (रावण) से बिना किसी विस्मय (भय) के कहा।
English Commentary
Ravana tries to intimidate with his monstrous appearance, baring his fangs ('damshtra'). He promises death via a 'web of arrows' ('bana-jalaih'). Lakshmana remains 'avismayanah' (unimpressed/unfazed). This visual contrast—the beastly, roaring demon versus the calm, composed prince—epitomizes the battle between chaos and order.
हिंदी टीका
रावण पुनः धमकी देता है। उसकी 'उद्वृत्तसिताग्रदंष्ट्रम्' (बाहर निकली हुई सफेद दाढ़ें) उसके राक्षसी और भयानक रूप को दर्शाती हैं। वह डराने का प्रयास कर रहा है। किन्तु लक्ष्मण 'अविस्मयानः' (आश्चर्य/भय रहित) हैं। रावण का भयानक रूप उन पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं डाल पा रहा है।
