अब्रवीद् राक्षसान् सर्वान् ह्रिया किम्चिद् अवान् मुखः ।
धर्षिता च प्रविष्टा च लंका दुष्प्रसहा पुरी ॥६-६-२॥
abravīdrākṣasān sarvān hriyā kiṃcidavāṅmukhaḥ । dharṣitā ca praviṣṭā ca laṅkā duṣprasahā purī ॥6-6-2॥
Translation
...spoke to all the Rakshasas, his face slightly bowed down in shame—'The city of Lanka, which was difficult to conquer, has been assaulted and infiltrated.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
...लज्जा (ह्री) से अपना मुख कुछ नीचे किए हुए, सब राक्षसों से बोला—'वह लंका पुरी, जिसे सहना (जीतना) कठिन था, (हनुमान द्वारा) धर्षित (तिरस्कृत/हमला) की गई और उसमें प्रवेश किया गया।'
English Commentary
A rare glimpse of Ravana's vulnerability. The phrase 'hriya kinchid avangmukhah' (face slightly downcast due to shame) is pivotal. It humanizes the villain, showing that even the arrogant Ravana feels the sting of humiliation. The impregnable Lanka ('dushprasaha') has been breached. This admission of failure is the prelude to his request for counsel, acknowledging that the situation is grave.

रावण का यह रूप दुर्लभ है। 'ह्रिया किंचिदवाङ्मुखः' (लज्जा से थोड़ा सिर झुकाए हुए)—यह वाक्यांश बताता है कि रावण का अहंकार चोटिल हुआ है। जिस लंका में देवता भी बिना आज्ञा प्रवेश नहीं कर सकते थे, उसे एक वानर ने रौंद डाला। यह एक राजा के रूप में उसकी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की विफलता थी। वह स्वीकार कर रहा है कि लंका 'धर्षित' (violates/assaulted) हुई है।
