ब्रह्मशापाभिभूतस्तु कुम्भकर्णो विबोध्यताम् ।
स पराजितमात्मानं प्रहस्तं च निषूदितम् ॥६-६०-१४॥
brahmaśāpābhibhūtastu kumbhakarṇo vibodhyatām |
sa parājitamātmānaṃ prahastaṃ ca niṣūditam ॥6-60-14॥
Translation
...let that Kumbhakarna, overwhelmed by Brahma's curse, be awakened. He does not know that I have been defeated and that Prahasta has been slain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...ब्रह्मशाप से ग्रस्त उस कुम्भकर्ण को जगाया जाए। वह मेरे पराजित होने और प्रहस्त के मारे जाने की बात नहीं जानता।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna was cursed by Brahma to sleep for long periods. Ravana orders him to be awakened because he is the only warrior capable of turning the tide of war. He is currently in deep sleep, oblivious to the destruction outside.
हिंदी टीका
कुम्भकर्ण को ब्रह्माजी का शाप था कि वह अधिक समय तक सोता रहेगा। रावण उसे जगाने का आदेश देता है क्योंकि कुम्भकर्ण ही एकमात्र ऐसा योद्धा है जो युद्ध का पासा पलट सकता है। वह अभी गहरी नींद में है और बाहर के विनाश से अनजान है।
