सशङ्खभेरीपणवप्रणादमास्फोटितक्ष्वेलितसिंहनादम् ।
दिशो द्रवन्तस्त्रिदिवं किरन्तः श्रुत्वा विहङ्गाः सहसा निपेतुः ॥६-६०-३८॥
saśaṅkhabherīpaṇavapraṇādamāsphoṭitakṣvelitasiṃhanādam |
diśo dravantastridivaṃ kirantaḥ śrutvā vihaṅgāḥ sahasā nipetuḥ ॥6-60-38॥
Translation
Hearing the sound of conches, drums, and tabors, along with clapping and lion-roars, birds flying in the directions and filling the sky suddenly fell down.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शंख, भेरी और पणव के नाद तथा ताल ठोकने और सिंहनाद के शब्दों को सुनकर, दिशाओं में उड़ते हुए और आकाश को व्याप्त करते हुए पक्षी सहसा (डरकर) गिर पड़े।
English Commentary
Observe the description of the noise intensity—it was so terrible that birds flying in the sky fell down in shock. Yet, it had no effect on Kumbhakarna.

शोर की तीव्रता का वर्णन देखिए—वह इतना भयंकर था कि आकाश में उड़ते पक्षी भी स्तब्ध होकर गिर पड़े। किन्तु कुम्भकर्ण पर इसका कोई प्रभाव नहीं हुआ।
