तं शैलशृङ्गैर्मुसलैर्गदाभिर्वृक्षैस्तलैर्मुद्गरमुष्टिभिश्च ।
सुखप्रसुप्तं भुवि कुम्भकर्णं रक्षांस्युदग्राणि तदा निजघ्नुः ॥६-६०-४०॥
taṃ śailaśṛṅgairmusalairgadābhirvṛkṣaistalairmudgaramuṣṭibhiśca |
sukhaprasuptaṃ bhuvi kumbhakarṇaṃ rakṣāṃsyudagrāṇi tadā nijaghnuḥ ॥6-60-40॥
Translation
Then those fierce Rakshasas struck Kumbhakarna, who was sleeping happily on the ground, with mountain peaks, pestles, maces, trees, palms, hammers, and fists.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उन उग्र राक्षसों ने भूमि पर सुखपूर्वक सोए हुए कुम्भकर्ण को पर्वत शिखरों, मूसलों, गदाओं, वृक्षों, हथेलियों, मुद्गरों और मुक्कों से मारा।
English Commentary
This scene is both comical and terrifying. Mountains and trees are being used to strike a warrior just to wake him up, yet he remains 'sukhaprasupta' (happily asleep).

यह दृश्य हास्यास्पद और भयानक दोनों है। एक योद्धा को जगाने के लिए उस पर पहाड़ों और पेड़ों से हमले किए जा रहे हैं, फिर भी वह 'सुखप्रसुप्त' (सुख से सोया) है।
