केशानन्ये प्रलुलुपुः कर्णावन्ये दशन्ति च ।
उदकुम्भशतान्यन्ये समसिञ्चन्त कर्णयोः ॥६-६०-५२॥
keśānanye pralulupuḥ karṇāvanye daśanti ca |
udakumbhaśatānyanye samasiñcanta karṇayoḥ ॥6-60-52॥
Translation
Some pulled his hair, others bit his ears, and others poured hundreds of pots of water into his ears.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुछ ने उसके बाल नोचे, कुछ ने उसके कान काटे, और अन्यों ने सैंकड़ों घड़े पानी उसके कानों में डाल दिया।
English Commentary
These measures are extremely painful. Pulling hair and biting ears show the lengths to which the demons went. Pouring water is still considered a last resort to wake someone.

ये उपाय अत्यंत पीड़ादायक हैं। बाल नोचना और कान काटना—यह दर्शाता है कि राक्षस किस हद तक जा सकते थे। पानी डालना आज भी किसी को जगाने का अंतिम उपाय माना जाता है।
