Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
न दैत्यदानवेभ्यो वा भयमस्ति हि तादृशम् ।
यादृशं मानुषं राजन् भयमस्मानुपस्थितम् ॥६-६०-७४॥
na daityadānavebhyo vā bhayamasti hi tādṛśam |
yādṛśaṃ mānuṣaṃ rājan bhayamasmānupasthitam ॥6-60-74॥
Translation
O King! The fear that has come upon us from a human is such that we do not have even from the Daityas or Danavas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राजन! जैसा मानवी भय हमारे सामने उपस्थित हुआ है, वैसा भय तो (हमें) दैत्यों और दानवों से भी नहीं है।
English Commentary
The minister emphasizes the unprecedented nature of the threat. Comparisons to Daityas and Danavas (other classes of mighty titans/demons) serve to scale the danger. By stating that this human threat surpasses all supernatural conflicts they have known, Yupaksha conveys that the enemy is not merely a man, but a force of nature.

राक्षसों के लिए दैत्य और दानव (असुरों की अन्य जातियाँ) पारंपरिक प्रतिद्वंद्वी या शक्तिशाली योद्धा हो सकते हैं, किन्तु वर्तमान संकट अभूतपूर्व है। यूपाक्ष कुम्भकर्ण को समझा रहा है कि शत्रु को सामान्य मनुष्य समझने की भूल न करें। यह भय असाधारण है, जो उनकी पूरी जाति के अस्तित्व को चुनौती दे रहा है।
