Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्वमद्यैव यूपाक्ष हरिसैन्यं सलक्ष्मणम् ।
राघवं च रणे हत्वा पश्चाद्द्रक्ष्यामि रावणम् ॥६-६०-८०॥
sarvamadyaiva yūpākṣa harisainyaṃ salakṣmaṇam |
rāghavaṃ ca raṇe hatvā paścāddrakṣyāmi rāvaṇam ॥6-60-80॥
Translation
O Yupaksha! Only after killing the entire monkey army along with Lakshmana and Raghava (Shri Rama) in battle today, will I see Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे यूपाक्ष! आज ही लक्ष्मण सहित पूरी वानर सेना और राघव (श्री राम) को युद्ध में मारकर, उसके बाद मैं रावण को देखूँगा (मिलूँगा)।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's impulsiveness is on display. He declares he will wipe out the enemy first and report to the King later. This breaks protocol but shows his dedication to resolving the crisis instantly. He dismisses the threat posed by Shri Rama and Lakshmana, believing sheer brute force is enough to eliminate them immediately.

कुम्भकर्ण का आवेश। वह इतना उत्तेजित है कि वह राजा से मिलने की औपचारिकता भी बाद में करना चाहता है; पहले वह शत्रु का संहार करना चाहता है। यह उसके आत्मविश्वास और अपने बाहुबल पर भरोसे को दर्शाता है। वह मानता है कि श्री राम-लक्ष्मण को मारना उसके लिए 'आज' ('अद्यैव') का ही काम है।
