पीत्वा घटसहस्रे द्वे गमनायोपचक्रमे ।
ईषत्समुत्कटो मत्तस्तेजोबलसमन्वितः ॥६-६०-९४॥
pītvā ghaṭasahasre dve gamanāyopacakrame |
īṣatsamutkaṭo mattastejobalasamanvitaḥ ॥6-60-94॥
Translation
Having drunk two thousand jars, endowed with energy and strength, and slightly intoxicated/excited, he prepared to depart.
हिंदी अनुवाद
दो हजार घड़े पीकर, तेज और बल से युक्त होकर तथा थोड़ा सा उत्तेजित (नशे में) होकर वह जाने के लिए तैयार हुआ।
English Commentary
The scale of consumption—two thousand jars—emphasizes his monstrous size. The drink has the desired effect: he is energized ('tejo-bala-samanvitah') and 'ishat samutkatah' (slightly tipsy or fiercely excited). This state of controlled intoxication makes him a terrifying force ready to be unleashed.
हिंदी टीका
कुम्भकर्ण की क्षमता—दो हजार घड़े! मदिरा ने उसमें 'तेज' और 'बल' का संचार किया। 'ईषत्समुत्कटो' (थोड़ा सा उत्कट/नशे में) होना युद्ध के लिए उसकी आक्रामकता को और बढ़ा रहा था। वह अब पूरी तरह चार्ज हो चुका था।
