ततो रामो भहातेजा धनुरादाय वीर्यवान् ।
किरीटिनं महाकायं कुम्भकर्णं ददर्श ह ॥६-६१-१॥
tato rāmo mahātejā dhanurādāya vīryavān |
kirīṭinaṃ mahākāyaṃ kumbhakarṇaṃ dadarśa ha ॥6-61-1॥
Translation
Thereafter, the highly radiant and valiant Shri Rama, taking up His bow, beheld the massive-bodied Kumbhakarna wearing a diadem.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तत्पश्चात, महान तेजस्वी और वीर्यवान श्री राम ने अपना धनुष हाथ में लेकर मुकुट धारण किए हुए विशालकाय कुम्भकर्ण को देखा।
English Commentary
This verse depicts the first visual encounter between Shri Rama and Kumbhakarna on the battlefield. Shri Rama taking up His bow signifies His readiness and the gravity of the impending confrontation. Kumbhakarna being 'Kiritin' (wearing a crown) symbolizes his royal stature and warrior status. This moment serves as a prelude to the epic struggle where Dharma itself stands ready to face the most gargantuan manifestation of Adharma.

यहाँ युद्धभूमि में श्री राम और कुम्भकर्ण का प्रथम साक्षात्कार चित्रित है। श्री राम का धनुष उठाना उनकी तत्परता और युद्ध के प्रति गम्भीरता को दर्शाता है। कुम्भकर्ण का 'किरीटी' (मुकुटधारी) होना उसके राजसी गौरव और योद्धा होने का प्रतीक है। यह दृश्य उस महान संघर्ष की प्रस्तावना है जहाँ साक्षात् धर्म अधर्म के सबसे भीमकाय रूप का सामना करने के लिए सन्नद्ध है।
