प्रजानां भक्षणं चापि देवानां चापि धर्षणम् ।
आश्रमध्वंसनं चापि परस्त्रीहरणं भृशम् ॥६-६१-२०॥
prajānāṃ bhakṣaṇaṃ cāpi devānāṃ ca pi dharṣaṇam |
āśramadhvaṃsanaṃ cāpi parastrīharaṇaṃ bhṛśam ॥6-61-20॥
Translation
They reported that he devours subjects, insults the Gods, destroys hermitages, and frequently abducts the wives of others.

उन्होंने बताया कि वह प्रजा को खा जाता है, देवताओं का अपमान करता है, आश्रमों को नष्ट करता है और दूसरे की स्त्रियों का हरण करता है।
English Commentary
Vibhishana lists Kumbhakarna’s sins here. 'Ashramadhvamsanam' (destruction of hermitages) and 'Parastriharanam' (abduction of others' wives) are heinous crimes for any civilized society. These acts prove that Kumbhakarna was not just a hungry giant but also a symbol of moral degradation. Such sins invariably pave the way for an entity's downfall.

विभीषण यहाँ कुम्भकर्ण के पापों की सूची प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं। 'आश्रमध्वंसनम्' और 'परस्त्रीहरणम्' किसी भी सभ्य समाज के लिए जघन्य अपराध हैं। ये कृत्य सिद्ध करते हैं कि कुम्भकर्ण केवल एक भूखा विशालकाय प्राणी नहीं था, बल्कि वह नैतिक पतन का भी प्रतीक था। ये अपराध ही उसके पतन का मार्ग प्रशस्त करते हैं।
