Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वासवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा सर्वलोकपितामहः ।
रक्षांस्यावाहयामास कुम्भकर्णं ददर्श ह ॥६-६१-२२॥
vāsavasya vacaḥ śrutvā sarvalokapitāmahaḥ |
rakṣāṃsyāvāhayāmāsa kumbhakarṇaṃ dadarśa ha ॥6-61-22॥
Translation
Hearing the words of Indra, the Grandfather of all the worlds, Brahma, summoned the Rakshasas and beheld Kumbhakarna.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इन्द्र के वचनों को सुनकर समस्त लोकों के पितामह ब्रह्मा जी ने राक्षसों को बुलाया और कुम्भकर्ण को देखा।
English Commentary
Lord Brahma is the 'Pitamaha' (Grandfather), thus He acts as the ultimate judge. Summoning the Rakshasas shows that He intended to hold the responsible party accountable for a resolution. Beholding Kumbhakarna would have made the gravity of the situation immediately clear to Brahma. This marks the start of the process of divine justice.
हिंदी टीका
ब्रह्मा जी 'पितामह' हैं, अतः वे न्यायकर्ता की भूमिका में हैं। राक्षसों को बुलाना यह दर्शाता है कि वे समस्या के समाधान के लिए उत्तरदायी पक्ष को सामने रखना चाहते थे। कुम्भकर्ण को देखने मात्र से ही स्थिति की गम्भीरता ब्रह्मा जी को स्पष्ट हो गई होगी। यहाँ से दैवीय न्याय की प्रक्रिया आरम्भ होती है।
