भ्रातुः स भवनं गच्छन् रक्षोगणसमन्वितम् ।
कुम्भकर्णः पदन्यासैरकम्पयत मेदिनीम् ॥६-६२-५॥
bhrātuḥ sa bhavanaṃ gacchan rakṣogaṇasamanvitam |
kumbhakarṇaḥ padanyāsairakampayata medinīm ॥6-62-5॥
Translation
Going into his brother's palace, which was filled with troops of Rakshasas, Kumbhakarna shook the earth with his footsteps.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षस-समूह से भरे हुए भाई के भवन में जाते हुए कुम्भकर्ण ने अपने कदमों की धमक से पृथ्वी को कँपा दिया।
English Commentary
Even within the palace, Kumbhakarna's physicality is dominant. The trembling of the earth ('medinim') under his feet signifies his colossal weight and power. It creates a sense of awe and perhaps fear, even among his own kin. His arrival is not silent; it is a seismic event.
हिंदी टीका
कुम्भकर्ण की शारीरिक विशालता का पुनः उल्लेख। महल के भीतर चलते हुए भी उसके पैरों से धरती काँप रही थी ('अकम्पयत मेदिनीम्')। यह रावण के दरबार में उसकी शक्तिशाली उपस्थिति को दर्ज कराता है। राक्षस गणों की उपस्थिति यह दिखाती है कि पूरा दरबार इस मिलन का साक्षी था।
