हितानुबन्धमालोच्य कार्याकार्यमिहात्मनः ।
राजा सहार्थतत्त्वज्ञैः सचिवैः स हि जीवति ॥६-६३-१३॥
hitānubandhamālocya kāryākāryamihātmanaḥ |
rājā sahārthatattvajñaiḥ sacivaiḥ sa hi jīvati ॥6-63-13॥
Translation
The king who considers the beneficial consequences of right and wrong actions together with ministers who know the essence of wealth/polity, he alone truly lives (rules).
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो राजा अर्थ के तत्त्व को जानने वाले मंत्रियों के साथ मिलकर अपने कार्य और अकार्य के हितकारी परिणामों का विचार करता है, वही (वास्तव में) जीता है (राज्य करता है)।
English Commentary
A true king is one who doesn't decide alone but utilizes the collective wisdom of learned ministers. Kumbhakarna is attacking Ravana's dictatorial tendencies.
