चपलस्येह कृत्यानि सहसानुप्रधावतः ।
छिद्रमन्ये प्रपद्यन्ते क्रौञ्चस्य स्वमिव द्विजाः ॥६-६३-१९॥
capalasyeha kṛtyāni sahasānupradhāvataḥ |
chidramanye prapadyante krauñcasya svamiva dvijāḥ ॥6-63-19॥
Translation
Enemies find the weak spot of a fickle king who rushes into actions without thought, just as birds find the hole in the Krauncha mountain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो राजा चपल (अस्थिर) होता है और बिना विचारे कार्यों के पीछे दौड़ता है, शत्रु उसके छिद्र (कमजोरी) को वैसे ही पा लेते हैं, जैसे पक्षी क्रौञ्च पर्वत के रंध्र (गुफा) को।
English Commentary
Ravana's fickleness (haste) is his greatest weakness. Shri Rama and the monkeys have exploited this vulnerability. The reference to the hole in Krauncha mountain is a famous mythological allusion.
हिंदी टीका
रावण की चपलता (जल्दबाजी) उसकी सबसे बड़ी कमजोरी है। श्री राम और वानरों ने इसी कमजोरी का लाभ उठाया है। क्रौञ्च पर्वत के रंध्र का उदाहरण प्रसिद्ध पौराणिक कथा से है (स्कन्द द्वारा भेदन)।
