दृष्टो दोषो हि यो ऽस्माभिः पुरा मन्त्रविनिर्णये ।
हितेष्वनभिरक्तेन सो ऽयमासादितस्त्वया ॥६-६३-२॥
dṛṣṭo doṣo hi yo 'smābhiḥ purā mantravinirṇaye |
hiteṣvanabhiraktena so 'yamāsāditastvayā ॥6-63-2॥
Translation
The flaw that we observed earlier during the consultation has now been encountered by you, who were not interested in the advice of well-wishers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पहले मंत्रणा (विचार-विमर्श) के समय हमने जो दोष देखा था, हितैषियों की बात में रुचि न रखने वाले तुमने आज उसी को प्राप्त कर लिया है।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna reminds Ravana that Vibhishana and other ministers had already warned about the consequences of abducting Sita. Ravana, out of arrogance, ignored that beneficial advice. The current crisis is the direct result of that negligence. Kumbhakarna here plays the role of a blunt counsellor.

कुम्भकर्ण रावण को याद दिलाता है कि विभीषण और अन्य मंत्रियों ने पहले ही सीता-हरण के दुष्परिणामों की चेतावनी दी थी। रावण ने अहंकारवश उस हितकारी सलाह (दोष) की अनदेखी की थी। अब वह संकट उसी अनदेखी का परिणाम है। कुम्भकर्ण यहाँ एक स्पष्टवक्ता मंत्री की भूमिका निभा रहा है।
