रञ्जनीयं हि भर्तारं विनष्टमवगम्य सा ।
नैराश्यात् स्त्रीलघुत्वाच्च त्वद्वशं प्रतिपत्स्यते ॥६-६४-३३॥
rañjanīyaṃ hi bhartāraṃ vinaṣṭamavagamya sā |
nairāśyāt strīlaghutvācca tvadvaśaṃ pratipatsyatē ॥6-64-33॥
Translation
Believing her beloved husband to be dead, due to despair and the inherent frailty of women, she will submit to your will.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने प्रिय पति को मृत समझकर, निराशा के कारण और स्त्रियों की स्वाभाविक कोमलता (या चपलता) के कारण वह आपके वश को स्वीकार कर लेगी।
English Commentary
Mahodara reveals his misogynistic and petty mindset. To assume Sita's 'frailty' ('Strilaghutvat') is his undoing, as he cannot conceive of her adamantine character. He stakes his success on her despair. This verse proves that demons only understand the physical and emotional planes, remaining ignorant of the power of the soul.

महोदर यहाँ स्त्रियों के प्रति अपनी तुच्छ सोच प्रकट करता है। 'स्त्रीलघुत्वात्' कहना उसकी अज्ञानता है, क्योंकि वह नहीं जानता कि माता सीता का चरित्र अडिग हिमालय के समान है। वह निराशा (नैराश्य) को अपनी जीत का आधार मान रहा है। यह श्लोक यह सिद्ध करता है कि असुर केवल शरीर और मन के धरातल पर सोचते हैं, आत्मा के बल को नहीं जानते।
