एवमुक्त्वा महाराजः कुम्भकर्णं महाबलम् ।
पुनर्जातमिवात्मानं मेने राक्षसपुङ्गवः ॥६-६५-१५॥
evamuktvā mahārājaḥ kumbhakarṇaṃ mahābalam |
punarjātamivātmānaṃ mene rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ ॥6-65-15॥
Translation
Having spoken thus to the mighty Kumbhakarna, the great King, the bull among Rakshasas, considered himself as if born again.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महाबली कुम्भकर्ण से ऐसा कहकर, राक्षसश्रेष्ठ महाराज (रावण) ने अपने आप को पुनर्जन्म मिला हुआ (नया जीवन पाया हुआ) माना।
English Commentary
The relief is existential. Ravana feels 'reborn' ('punarjatam'). This hyperbole signifies that he had considered himself dead or lost without Kumbhakarna. Now, with his brother's support, he feels alive and invincible again. It underscores how dire the situation had become for him.
हिंदी टीका
कुम्भकर्ण के तैयार होने से रावण को इतनी राहत मिली कि उसे लगा उसका 'पुनर्जन्म' ('पुनर्जातमिवात्मानं') हो गया है। हताशा के गहरे गर्त से निकलकर वह आशा के शिखर पर पहुँच गया। यह कुम्भकर्ण पर उसकी निर्भरता की गहराई को दिखाता है।
