Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
इन्द्राशनिसमं भीमं वज्रप्रतिमगौरवम् ।
देवदानवगन्धर्वयक्षकिन्नरसूदनम् ॥६-६५-१९॥
indrāśanisamaṃ bhīmaṃ vajrapratimagauravam |
devadānavagandharvayakṣakinnarasūdanam ॥6-65-19॥
Translation
It was equal to Indra's thunderbolt, terrible, heavy as the Vajra, and the destroyer of gods, Danavas, Gandharvas, Yakshas, and Kinnaras.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (शूल) इन्द्र की बिजली (अशनि) के समान (घातक), भयानक, वज्र के समान भारी और देव, दानव, गंधर्व, यक्ष तथा किन्नरों का संहार करने वाला था।
English Commentary
The pedigree of the weapon. Comparing it to 'Indra-ashani' (Indra's thunderbolt) establishes its divine-grade lethality. Listing the various supernatural beings it has killed ('deva-danava...sudanam') serves as a resume of its destructive power, warning of the danger it poses to the Vanaras.

शूल की महिमा। इसकी तुलना इन्द्र के वज्र से की गई है। इसका इतिहास रक्तरंजित है—इसने देवताओं से लेकर यक्षों तक सबका संहार ('सूदनम्') किया है। यह वर्णन बताता है कि कुम्भकर्ण का हथियार एक पौराणिक संहारक अस्त्र था, साधारण नहीं।
