कुम्भकर्णो महातेजा रावणं वाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
गमिष्याम्यहमेकाकी तिष्ठत्विह बलं मम ॥६-६५-२१॥
kumbhakarṇo mahātejā rāvaṇaṃ vākyamabravīt |
gamiṣyāmyahamekākī tiṣṭhatviha balaṃ mama ॥6-65-21॥
Translation
...the highly radiant Kumbhakarna spoke these words to Ravana: 'I shall go alone. Let my army stay here.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...महातेजस्वी कुम्भकर्ण ने रावण से यह वचन कहा—'मैं अकेला ही जाऊँगा। मेरी सेना यहीं रहे।
English Commentary
Supreme confidence or hubris? Kumbhakarna insists on going solo ('aham ekaki'). He orders his army to stand down ('tishthatu'). This gesture is meant to show his contempt for the enemy—he doesn't need an army to crush 'monkeys'. It highlights his warrior pride.

कुम्भकर्ण का अति-आत्मविश्वास। वह सेना साथ ले जाने से मना कर देता है। उसे लगता है कि वानरों के लिए वह 'एकाकी' (अकेला) ही काफी है। यह उसकी वीरता है, लेकिन शायद रणनीतिक भूल भी। वह अपनी शक्ति पर इतना भरोसा करता है कि उसे सहायता की आवश्यकता नहीं लगती।
