Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
बहुव्यामांश्च परिघान् गदाश्च मुसलानि च ।
तालस्कन्धांश्च विपुलान् क्षेपणीयान् दुरासदान् ॥६-६५-३९॥
bahuvyāmāṃśca parighān gadāśca musalāni ca |
tālaskandhāṃśca vipulān kṣepaṇīyān durāsadān ॥6-65-39॥
Translation
(They carried) iron clubs measuring many fathoms, maces, pestles, and huge missiles resembling palm trunks that were dangerous/difficult to approach.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(उन्होंने) कई व्याम (माप) लंबे परिघ (लोहे के डंडे), गदाएं, मूसल और ताड़ के तने के समान विशाल एवं दुस्सह फेंकने वाले हथियार (क्षेपणिय) ले रखे थे।
English Commentary
The arsenal includes heavy blunt weapons designed for crushing. 'Parigha', 'Gada', 'Musala'—these are weapons of brute strength. The mention of missiles like palm trunks indicates long-range capability. It shows the Rakshasas were prepared for both close quarters and ranged combat.

हथियारों का जखीरा। वे भारी-भरकम हथियारों—परिघ, गदा, मूसल—से लैस थे। 'तालस्कन्धांश्च'—ताड़ के पेड़ जैसे विशाल प्रक्षेप्य (missiles) भी उनके पास थे। यह वानरों के पत्थरों और पेड़ों का जवाब देने के लिए भारी तोपखाने (artillery) जैसा था।
