युद्धे कापुरुषैर्नित्यं भवद्भिः प्रियवादिभिः ।
राजानमनुगच्छद्भिः कृत्यमेतद्धि सादितम् ॥६-६५-६॥
yuddhe kāpuruṣairnityaṃ bhavadbhiḥ priyavādhibhiḥ |
rājānamanugacchadbhiḥ kṛtyametaddhi sāditam ॥6-65-6॥
Translation
By you people who are cowards in battle, always speaking pleasant words (flatterers), and following the King (blindly), this task (governance/kingdom) has indeed been ruined.
हिंदी अनुवाद
युद्ध में कायर, नित्य प्रिय बोलने वाले (चाटुकार) और (अंध होकर) राजा का अनुसरण करने वाले तुम लोगों ने इस कार्य (राज्य) को नष्ट कर दिया है।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna identifies the toxic culture of Ravana's court: sycophancy ('priya-vadibhih') and cowardice ('kapurushaih'). Ministers who blindly follow ('anugacchadbhih') the King's whims instead of offering sound counsel are responsible for the 'saditam' (ruin/destruction) of the state. This shows Kumbhakarna's political acumen despite his brute image.

कुम्भकर्ण मंत्रियों की पोल खोलता है। वे 'युद्धे कापुरुषैः' (युद्ध में डरपोक) हैं और केवल 'प्रियवादिभिः' (मीठा बोलने वाले) हैं। राजा को खुश रखने के लिए झूठ बोलने की उनकी आदत ने विनाश को आमंत्रित किया है। 'कृत्यमेतद्धि सादितम्'—राज्य का बेड़ा गर्क कर दिया गया है।
