लङ्घयन्तः प्रधावन्तो वानरा नावलोकयन् ।
केचित्समुद्रे पतिताः केचिद्गगनमाश्रिताः ॥६-६६-१४॥
laṅghayantaḥ pradhāvanto vānarā nāvalokayan |
kecitsamudre patitāḥ kecidgaganamaśritāḥ ॥6-66-14॥
Translation
Leaping and running, the monkeys did not look back. Some fell into the ocean, and some took refuge in the sky (climbed high).
हिंदी अनुवाद
कूदते-फांदते और भागते हुए वानर पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखते थे। कुछ समुद्र में गिर पड़े और कुछ ने आकाश का आश्रय लिया।
English Commentary
Panic has led to disorientation. Running towards water and sky to save lives shows their sheer desperation.
