कृतं नः कदनं घोरं कुम्भकर्णेन रक्षसा ।
न स्थानकालो गच्छामो दयितं जीवितं हि नः ॥६-६६-३०॥
kṛtaṃ naḥ kadanaṃ ghoraṃ kumbhakarṇena rakṣasā |
na sthānakālo gacchāmo dayitaṃ jīvitaṃ hi naḥ ॥6-66-30॥
Translation
The Rakshasa Kumbhakarna has caused us terrible slaughter. This is not the time to stand; we are going, for life is dear to us.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षस कुम्भकर्ण ने हमारा घोर संहार किया है। यह खड़े रहने का समय नहीं है, हम जा रहे हैं, क्योंकि हमें जीवन प्रिय है।
English Commentary
This is the naked truth. When death dances in front, ideals collapse. 'Life is dear' is their honest confession.

यह नग्न सत्य है। जब मृत्यु सामने नाचती है, तो आदर्श धरे रह जाते हैं। 'जीवन प्रिय है'—यह उनकी ईमानदार स्वीकारोक्ति है।
