Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नीलाञ्जनचयप्रख्यैः शरैः काञ्चनभूषणैः ।
आच्छाद्यमानः शुशुभे मेघैः सूर्य इवांशुमान् ॥६-६७-१०६॥
nīlāñjanacayaprakhyaiḥ śaraiḥ kāñcanabhūṣaṇaiḥ |
ācchādyamānaḥ śuśubhe meghaiḥ sūrya ivāṃśumān ॥6-67-106॥
Translation
Being covered by those arrows which were as dark as a heap of collyrium and adorned with gold, that Rakshasa shone like the radiant sun surrounded by clouds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
काजल के ढेर के समान (काले) और सुवर्ण से सजे उन बाणों से ढके जाने पर, वह राक्षस बादलों से घिरे हुए सूर्य के समान सुशोभित हुआ।
English Commentary
Sage Valmiki's keen eye captures the beauty even in weaponry. The blend of dark and golden arrows created a supernatural visual on Kumbhakarna's body. Though a moment of slaughter, the epic language frames it as a grand natural phenomenon (the sun and clouds).

वाल्मीकि जी की सूक्ष्म दृष्टि यहाँ बाणों के सौंदर्य को भी पकड़ती है। काले और सुनहरे बाणों का मेल कुम्भकर्ण के शरीर पर एक अलौकिक दृश्य बना रहा था। यद्यपि यह संहार का क्षण है, किन्तु महाकाव्य की भाषा इसे एक विराट प्राकृतिक घटना (सूर्य और मेघ) के रूप में प्रस्तुत करती है।
