राममेवैकमिच्छामि हन्तुं यस्मिन् हते हतम् ।
रामे मया चेन्निहते येऽन्ये स्थास्यन्ति संयुगे ॥६-६७-११३॥
rāma mevāikam icchāmi hantuṃ yasmin hate hatam |
rāme mayā cenni hate ye'nye sthāsyanti saṃyuge ॥6-67-113॥
Translation
I wish to slay Shri Rama alone, for once He is killed, everything is finished. If Shri Rama is slain by me, then those others who remain in the battle—

मैं केवल श्री राम का वध करना चाहता हूँ, क्योंकि उनके मारे जाने पर सब कुछ समाप्त हो जाएगा। यदि मेरे द्वारा श्री राम मार दिए गए, तो जो अन्य युद्ध में खड़े होंगे—
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's goal is crystal clear: he intends to strike at the 'root.' He believes that the death of Shri Rama will instantly dissolve the Vanara army and all other support. This reveals his loyalty to Ravana and his strategic clarity. He seeks to bring the war to a definitive conclusion.

कुम्भकर्ण का लक्ष्य अत्यंत स्पष्ट है। वह 'जड़' पर प्रहार करना चाहता है। उसे विश्वास है कि श्री राम की मृत्यु वानर सेना और अन्य सभी सहायकों के अस्तित्व को समाप्त कर देगी। यह उसकी स्वामीभक्ति (रावण के प्रति) और उसकी सामरिक समझ को प्रकट करता है। वह युद्ध को एक निर्णायक अंत तक पहुँचाना चाहता है।
