मृधे घोरतरं वाक्यं सौमित्रिः प्रहसन्निव ।
यत्त्वं शक्रादिभिर्देवैरसह्यः प्राप्य पौरुषम् ॥६-६७-११५॥
mṛdhe ghorataraṃ vākyaṃ saumitriḥ prahasanniva |
yattvaṃ śakrādibhirdevairasahyaḥ prāpya pauruṣam ॥6-67-115॥
Translation
Hearing those most terrible words in the battle, Lakshmana, as if laughing, said: You who have attained a manliness that is unbearable even for Indra and the other Gods—

युद्धभूमि में उन भयंकर वचनों को सुनकर सुमित्रानन्दन लक्ष्मण ने मानो हँसते हुए कहा— तुम जो इन्द्र आदि देवताओं के लिए असहनीय पौरुष प्राप्त कर चुके हो—
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana's 'laughter' is the perfect response to Kumbhakarna's ego. While acknowledging his prowess, He continues to challenge him. This laughter is not of mockery but of a warrior's fearlessness, undeterred by the enemy's terrifying history. He is preparing to bring Kumbhakarna back to reality.

श्री लक्ष्मण जी की 'हंसी' कुम्भकर्ण के अहंकार का सटीक उत्तर है। वे उसके पराक्रम को स्वीकार करते हुए भी उसे चुनौती दे रहे हैं। यह हंसी उपहास की नहीं, बल्कि एक वीर की निर्भयता की है जो शत्रु के डरावने इतिहास से विचलित नहीं होता। वे कुम्भकर्ण को वास्तविकता का बोध कराने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।
