तस्योरसि निमग्नाश्च शरा बर्हिणवाससः ।
हस्ताच्चापि परिभ्रष्टा पपातोर्व्यां महाबलः ॥६-६७-१२२॥
tasyorasi nimagnāśca śarā barhiṇavāsasaḥ |
hastāccāpi paribhraṣṭā papātorvyāṃ mahābalaḥ ॥6-67-122॥
Translation
Those arrows adorned with peacock feathers became embedded in his chest. Then the weapon slipped from the hands of that mighty one, and he fell to the earth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसकी छाती में मोर के पंखों वाले वे बाण धँस गए। तब उस महाबली के हाथ से (मुदगर) गिर गया और वह पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
The impact of Shri Rama's arrows was unerring. The word 'Nimagnah' (embedded/sunk) indicates the depth of the injury. The slipping of the weapon from his hand is the first physical sign of a warrior's defeat. Kumbhakarna's fall provided great relief to the Vanara army, though it was not his end, only a momentary collapse.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम के बाणों का प्रभाव अचूक था। 'मग्न' (धँस जाना) शब्द चोट की गहराई को बताता है। हाथ से शस्त्र का गिरना योद्धा की हार की पहली भौतिक निशानी है। कुम्भकर्ण का गिरना वानर सेना के लिए एक बड़ी राहत थी, किन्तु यह उसका अंत नहीं, केवल एक क्षणिक पतन था।
