Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
समुत्पपात वेगेन धनुरुत्तममाददे ।
क्रोधाताम्रक्षणो वीरो निर्दहन्निव चक्षुषा ॥६-६७-१३६॥
samutpapāta vegena dhanuruttamamādade |
krodhātāmrākṣaṇo vīro nirdahanniva cakṣuṣā ॥6-67-136॥
Translation
The heroic Shri Rama leaped up with speed and took up His excellent bow. With eyes reddened by rage, He appeared as if He were incinerating the enemy with His very glance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे वीर श्री राम बड़े वेग से उछले और अपना श्रेष्ठ धनुष हाथ में लिया। क्रोध के कारण उनके नेत्र लाल हो गए थे और वे अपनी दृष्टि से ही मानो शत्रु को जला रहे थे।
English Commentary
This is Shri Rama's form filled with 'Vira Rasa' (heroic sentiment). The redness of His eyes ('Tamrakshanah') and His 'incinerating' glance reveal His divine brilliance and His wrath toward Adharma. When the Lord Himself takes up the bow, the end of any demon in the universe becomes certain. It is a harbinger of the final destruction.

श्री राम का यह 'वीर रस' से परिपूर्ण रूप है। उनके नेत्रों की लालिमा (ताम्राक्षणः) और 'निर्दहन्निव' (जला देने वाली) दृष्टि उनके ईश्वरीय तेज और अधर्म के प्रति उनके कोप को प्रकट करती है। जब भगवान स्वयं धनुष उठाते हैं, तो ब्रह्मांड के किसी भी असुर का अंत निश्चित हो जाता है। यह अंतिम संहार की पूर्वसूचना है।
