स ददर्श महात्मानं किरीटिनमरिंदमम् ।
शोणिताप्लुतसर्वाङ्गं कुम्भकर्णं महाबलम् ॥६-६७-१४०॥
sa dadarśa mahātmānaṃ kirīṭinamarindamam |
śoṇitāplutasarvāṅgaṃ kumbhakarṇaṃ mahābalam ॥6-67-140॥
Translation
He beheld the great-bodied, diadem-wearing Kumbhakarna, the subduer of enemies, whose entire limbs were drenched in blood.

उन्होंने उस विशालकाय, मुकुटधारी, शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले और रक्त से लथपथ अंगों वाले महाबली कुम्भकर्ण को देखा।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's gaze is now directly fixed on the enemy. Kumbhakarna's 'Shonitapluta' (blood-drenched) state bore witness to both the carnage he committed and the strikes he endured. The term 'Mahatma' here refers to his staggering physical stature. This is the moment the entire cosmos was waiting for—the direct face-off between two supreme powers.

श्री राम की दृष्टि अब सीधे शत्रु पर है। कुम्भकर्ण की अवस्था 'शोणिताप्लुत' (रक्त से सनी) थी, जो उसके द्वारा किए गए भीषण संहार और उस पर हुए प्रहारों की गवाही दे रही थी। 'महात्मा' शब्द यहाँ उसकी विशाल देह के संदर्भ में है। यह दो महाशक्तियों के आमने-सामने आने का वह क्षण है जिसकी प्रतीक्षा सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड को थी।
