स तस्य चापनिर्घोषात् कुपितो राक्षसर्षभः ।
अमृष्यमाणस्तं घोषमभिदुद्राव राघवम् ॥६-६७-१४५॥
sa tasya cāpanirghoṣāt kupito rākṣasarṣabhaḥ |
amṛṣyamāṇastaṃ ghoṣamabhidudrāva rāghavam ॥6-67-145॥
Translation
Hearing the sound of that bow, that foremost of Rakshasas became enraged and, unable to tolerate that roar, he rushed toward Shri Rama (the scion of Raghu).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस धनुष की टंकार को सुनकर वह श्रेष्ठ राक्षस क्रोधित हो गया और उस शब्द को सहन न कर पाने के कारण वह श्री रघुनाथ जी की ओर दौड़ा।
English Commentary
The sound of the bow was both a challenge and an insult to Kumbhakarna. The word 'Amrishyamanah' (unable to tolerate) suggests that Shri Rama's impact was felt by the enemy even before an arrow was shot. Kumbhakarna rushing toward Shri Rama is like a moth flying toward a flame. This is the gripping conclusion of the sarga, leaving the reader in anticipation of the epic clash to follow.

धनुष का शब्द कुम्भकर्ण के लिए एक चुनौती और अपमान था। 'अमृष्यमाणः' (असहनीय) शब्द यह दर्शाता है कि श्री राम का प्रभाव बाण चलने से पूर्व ही शत्रु पर पड़ चुका था। कुम्भकर्ण का श्री राम की ओर दौड़ना पतंगे का अग्नि की ओर जाने के समान है। यह सर्ग का वह रोमांचक अंत है जहाँ पाठक को अगले क्षण होने वाले महासंग्श्री राम की प्रतीक्षा रहती है।
