Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवमुक्त्वाश्रुपूर्णाक्षो गदापाणिर्विभीषणः ।
एकान्तमाश्रितो भूत्वा चिन्तयामास संस्थितः ॥६-६७-१५५॥
evamuktvāśrupūrṇākṣo gadāpāṇirvibhīṣaṇaḥ |
ekāntamāśrito bhūtvā cintayāmāsa saṃsthitaḥ ॥6-67-155॥
Translation
Saying this, Vibhishana, with mace in hand and eyes filled with tears, withdrew to a corner and stood there lost in thought.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहकर, हाथों में गदा लिए हुए विभीषण की आँखें आंसुओं से भर आईं और वे एक ओर हटकर चिन्तामग्न होकर खड़े हो गए।
English Commentary
Vibhishana’s tears reveal his inner humanity and grief for his brother. He knows his brother's end is inevitable. Withdrawing to a solitary spot ('Ekantam') reflects his mental turmoil and detachment. Even while being part of the war, he is emotionally wounded. This verse depicts the difficult path of a righteous soul who must witness the destruction of his own kin.
हिंदी टीका
विभीषण का रोना उनके भीतर की मानवीय संवेदना और भाई के प्रति दुख को प्रकट करता है। वे जानते हैं कि अब उनके भाई का अंत निश्चित है। 'एकान्तम्' में जाना उनके मानसिक द्वंद्व और वैराग्य को दर्शाता है। वे युद्ध का हिस्सा होकर भी भावनात्मक रूप से आहत हैं। यह श्लोक एक धर्मात्मा के उस कठिन मार्ग को चित्रित करता है जहाँ उसे अपने प्रियजनों का विनाश देखना पड़ता है।
