Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कुम्भकर्णो महातेजा राघवं वाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
नाहं विराधो विज्ञेयो न कबन्धः खरो न च ॥६-६७-१६०॥
kumbhakarṇo mahātejā rāghavaṃ vākyamabravīt |
nāhaṃ virādho vijñeyo na kabandhaḥ kharo na ca ॥6-67-160॥
Translation
The highly radiant Kumbhakarna spoke these words to Shri Rama (the scion of Raghu): 'Do not mistake me for Viradha, Kabandha, or Khara.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
महातेजस्वी कुम्भकर्ण ने श्री रघुनाथ जी से यह बात कही— मुझे तुम विराध, कबन्ध या खर मत समझो।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna cites Shri Rama's previous victories to assert his own superiority over those fallen demons. He is aware that Shri Rama slew Viradha and Khara, but in his intoxication of power, he warns that he is of a much higher caliber. This marks the peak of his delusion of invincibility.

कुम्भकर्ण यहाँ श्री राम की पूर्व की विजयों का उल्लेख करके स्वयं को उन सब राक्षसों से श्रेष्ठ बता रहा है। वह जानता है कि श्री राम ने विराध और खर जैसे वीरों का वध किया था, किन्तु वह अपने बल के मद में उन्हें चेतावनी देता है कि उसका स्तर उन सब से कहीं ऊँचा है। यह उसके अजेय होने के भ्रम की पराकाष्ठा है।
