यैः सायकैः सालवरा निकृत्ता वाली हतो वानरपुंगवश्च ।
ते कुम्भकर्णस्य तदा शरीरे वज्रोपमा न व्यथां बभूवुः ॥६-६७-१६५॥
yaiḥ sāyakaiḥ sālavarā nikṛttā vālī hato vānarapuṃgavaśca |
te kumbhakarṇasya tadā śarīre vajropamā na vyathāṃ babhūvuḥ ॥6-67-165॥
Translation
Those arrows by which the best of Sala trees were pierced and the foremost of monkeys, Vali, was slain—even those thunderbolt-like arrows caused no pain to Kumbhakarna's body.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिन बाणों से सात साल के वृक्षों को काट दिया गया था और वानर श्रेष्ठ बाली का वध हुआ था, वे वज्र के समान शक्तिशाली बाण भी कुम्भकर्ण के शरीर में कोई पीड़ा उत्पन्न नहीं कर सके।
English Commentary
The previous records of Shri Rama's arrows are recalled here. The force that pierced the seven Sala trees and slew Vali was falling short against Kumbhakarna. This verse illustrates Kumbhakarna's extraordinary defensive power. It shows that when unrighteousness is at its peak, it possesses the capacity to withstand even standard divine strikes.

यहाँ श्री राम के बाणों के पिछले कीर्तिमानों की याद दिलाई गई है। बाली और साल के वृक्षों को भेदने वाली शक्ति भी कुम्भकर्ण के सामने कम पड़ रही थी। यह श्लोक कुम्भकर्ण की असाधारण रक्षात्मक शक्ति का चित्रण करता है। यह दर्शाता है कि अधर्म जब अपनी चरम सीमा पर होता है, तो वह सामान्य दैवीय प्रहारों को भी झेलने की क्षमता रखता है।
