स कुम्भकर्णस्य भुजो निकृत्तः पपात भूमौ गिरिसंनिकाशः ।
विचेष्टमानोऽभिजघान वृक्षाञ्शैलाञ्शिला वानरराक्षसांश्च ॥६-६७-१७३॥
sa kumbhakarṇasya bhujo nikṛttaḥ papāta bhūmau girisaṃnikāśaḥ |
viceṣṭamāno'bhijaghāna vṛkṣāñśailāñśilā vānararākṣasāṃśca ॥6-67-173॥
Translation
That severed arm of Kumbhakarna fell to the ground like a mountain. While twitching, that arm crushed trees, mountains, rocks, Vanaras, and Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुम्भकर्ण की वह कटी हुई भुजा पर्वत के समान भूमि पर गिर पड़ी। तड़पती हुई उस भुजा ने वृक्षों, पर्वतों, शिलाओं और वानरों तथा राक्षसों को कुचल दिया।
English Commentary
The 'twitching' (Vicheshtamanah) of the severed arm demonstrates its immense life-force; it continued to cause destruction even after being detached. This verse reaffirms the overwhelming impact of Kumbhakarna's scale. The battlefield was now piled high with mountains, trees, and the limbs of the giant. It is an intensely gruesome scene of carnage.

कटी हुई भुजा का 'विचेष्टमानः' (तड़पना या हिलना) होना उसकी प्रचंड प्राण-शक्ति को दर्शाता है। वह निर्जीव होने के बाद भी विनाश कर रही थी। यह श्लोक कुम्भकर्ण की विशालता के प्रभाव को पुनः पुष्ट करता है। युद्धभूमि में अब पर्वत और वृक्षों के साथ-साथ राक्षसों के अंगों का ढेर लग गया था। यह संहार का अत्यंत वीभत्स दृश्य है।
