अपूरयत्तस्य मुखं शिताग्रै रामः शरैर्हेमपिनद्धपुङ्खैः ।
स पूर्णवक्त्रो न शशाक वक्तुं चुकूज कृच्छ्रेण मुमोह चापि ॥६-६७-१७७॥
apūrayattasya mukhaṃ śitāgrai rāmaḥ śarai rhemapinaddhapuṅkhaīḥ |
sa pūrṇavaktro na śaśāka vaktuṃ cukūja kṛcchreṇa mumoha cāpi ॥6-67-177॥
Translation
Shri Rama filled his mouth with sharp arrows having gold-plated feathers. With his mouth thus filled, he was unable to speak; he could only groan with great difficulty and also fainted.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम ने सोने के पंखों वाले तीखे बाणों से उसका मुख भर दिया। मुख भर जाने के कारण वह कुछ बोल नहीं सका, केवल बड़ी कठिनाई से कराहने लगा और मूर्छित हो गया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama blocked his final mode of attack (his mouth) with arrows. The word 'Apurayat' (filled) illustrates the volume and precision of His shafts. The voice of Kumbhakarna, which had been roaring until now, was silenced. 'Cukuja' (groaned/warbled in pain) represents the sound of his final agony. His end is now imminent.

श्री राम ने उसके अंतिम प्रहार (मुख) को भी बाणों से अवरुद्ध कर दिया। 'अपुरयत्' (भर देना) शब्द उनके बाणों की संख्या और सटीकता को दर्शाता है। जो कुम्भकर्ण अभी तक गर्जना कर रहा था, उसकी वाणी मौन हो गई। 'चुकूज' (कराहना) उसकी अंतिम पीड़ा का स्वर है। अब उसका अंत अत्यंत निकट है।
