चकर्त रक्षोऽधिपतेः शिरस्तदा यथैव वृत्रस्य पुरा पुरंदरः ।
॥६-६७-१८१॥
cakarta rakṣo'dhipateḥ śirastadā yathaiva vṛtrasya purā purandaraḥ ॥6-67-181॥
Translation
That arrow severed the head of that Lord of Rakshasas just as Indra had previously severed the head of Vritrasura.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस बाण ने उस राक्षसराज के सिर को उसी प्रकार काट दिया, जैसे प्राचीन काल में इन्द्र ने वृत्रासुर का सिर काटा था।
English Commentary
This marks the end of Kumbhakarna. The analogy to Indra and Vritrasura establishes this slaying as the culmination of a great holy war. Just as the death of Vritra liberated the Gods from crisis, the death of Kumbhakarna served to lighten the burden of the earth. It is a triumph of Shri Rama's infallible power.

यह कुम्भकर्ण का अंत है। वृत्रासुर और इन्द्र की उपमा इस वध को एक महान धर्म-युद्ध की परिणति के रूप में स्थापित करती है। वृत्रासुर के वध ने जैसे देवताओं को संकट से मुक्त किया था, वैसे ही कुम्भकर्ण का वध पृथ्वी के भार को कम करने वाला सिद्ध हुआ। यह श्री राम की अमोघ शक्ति की विजय है।
