Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तच्चनिकायं हिमवत्प्रकाशं ग्रस्तंस्ततोयनिधौ पपात ।
ग्राहान् वरान् मीनवरान् भुजङ्गान् ममर्द भूमिं च तदा विवेश ॥६-६७-१८५॥
taccanikāyaṃ himavatprakāśaṃ grastaṃstatoyanidhau papāta |
grāhān varān mīnavarān bhujaṅgān mamarda bhūmiṃ ca tadā viveśa ॥6-67-185॥
Translation
That body, vast as the Himalayas, fell into the ocean. It crushed large crocodiles, excellent fishes, and serpents, and then entered the bed of the sea.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हिमालय के समान विशाल वह शरीर समुद्र में जा गिरा। उसने बड़े-बड़े घड़ियालों, श्रेष्ठ मछलियों और सर्पों को कुचल दिया और फिर वह समुद्र के तल (भूमि) में समा गया।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's body found its end in the ocean. The comparison 'Himavat-prakasham' (like the Himalayas) is the height of describing his enormity. Even the creatures of the sea could not withstand his weight. This scene depicts the total erasure of the great demon's physical existence. His submergence in water symbolizes nature washing away the filth of unrighteousness.

कुम्भकर्ण के शरीर का अंत समुद्र में हुआ। 'हिमवत्प्रकाशम्' (हिमालय के समान) उपमा उसकी विशालता की पराकाष्ठा है। समुद्र के जीव भी उसके भार को नहीं सह सके। यह दृश्य उस महान असुर के भौतिक अस्तित्व के पूर्ण विलोपन को दर्शाता है। जल में उसका समाना प्रकृति द्वारा अधर्म के मल को धो देने का प्रतीक है।
