तस्मिन् हते ब्राह्मणदेवशत्रौ महाबले संयति कुम्भकर्णे ।
चचाल भूर्भूमिधराश्च सर्वे हर्षाच्च देवास्तुमुलं प्रणेदुः ॥६-६७-१८६॥
tasmin hate brāhmaṇadevaśatrau mahābale saṃyati kumbhakarṇe |
cacāla bhūrbhūmidharāśca sarve harṣācca devāstumulaṃ praṇeduḥ ॥6-67-186॥
Translation
When that mighty Kumbhakarna, the enemy of Brahmanas and Gods, was slain in the battle, the earth and all the mountains trembled, and the Gods made a tumultuous sound of joy.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ब्राह्मणों और देवताओं के उस महाबली शत्रु कुम्भकर्ण के युद्ध में मारे जाने पर, पृथ्वी और सभी पर्वत कांप उठे और देवताओं ने हर्ष के साथ महान कोलाहल (ध्वनि) किया।
English Commentary
Calling Kumbhakarna the 'Enemy of Brahmanas and Gods' recalls his sacrilegious deeds. His death caused a tremor throughout nature, signaling the end of a titanic power. The joy of the Gods is natural, as their greatest fear had been eliminated. This verse expresses cosmic jubilation at the cessation of unrighteousness.

कुम्भकर्ण को 'ब्राह्मण-देव-शत्रु' कहना उसके अधार्मिक कृत्यों की याद दिलाता है। उसकी मृत्यु से सम्पूर्ण प्रकृति में हलचल हुई, जो एक महाशक्ति के अंत का सूचक है। देवताओं का हर्ष स्वाभाविक है क्योंकि उनके सबसे बड़े भय का निवारण हो गया था। यह श्लोक अधर्म के अंत पर ब्रह्मांडीय उल्लास को प्रकट करता है।
