स शूलमाविध्य तडित्प्रकाशं गिरिर्यथा प्रज्वलिताग्रशृङ्गम् ।
बाह्वन्तरे मारुतिमाजघान गुहोऽचलं क्रौञ्चमिवोग्रशक्त्या ॥६-६७-१९॥
sa śūlamāvidhya taḍitprakāśaṃ giriryathā prajvalitāgraśṛṅgam |
bāhvantare mārutimājaghāna guho'calaṃ krauñcamivograśaktyā ॥6-67-19॥
Translation
Then Kumbhakarna, brandishing his trident which flashed like lightning and had a flaming tip, struck Hanuman in the chest, just as Lord Kartikeya struck Mount Krauncha with his powerful Shakti missile.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब कुम्भकर्ण ने बिजली के समान चमकते हुए उस शूल को घुमाकर, जिसके अग्रभाग से अग्नि निकल रही थी, हनुमान जी की छाती पर वैसे ही प्रहार किया जैसे कार्तिकेय ने क्रौंच पर्वत पर शक्ति से प्रहार किया था।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's trident is compared here to the infallible missile of Lord Kartikeya. The term 'Tadit-prakasham' denotes its electric intensity. Such a blow delivered to a warrior with an adamantine body like Shri Hanuman highlights the sheer ferocity of the battle. This analogy elevates the duel to a mythic scale of grandeur.

यहाँ कुम्भकर्ण के शूल की तुलना कार्तिकेय (गुह) के अमोघ अस्त्र से की गई है। 'ताड़ितप्रकाशम्' शब्द उसकी मारक तीव्रता को दर्शाता है। हनुमान जी जैसे वज्र-देह योद्धा पर ऐसा प्रहार होना युद्ध की भयंकरता को स्पष्ट करता है। यह उपमा इस द्वन्द्व को पौराणिक स्तर की महानता प्रदान करती है।
