ऋषभं तु महावेगं बाहुभ्यां परिषस्वजे ।
कुम्भकर्णभुजाभ्यां तु पीडितो वानरर्षभः ॥६-६७-२७॥
ṛṣabhaṃ tu mahāvegaṃ bāhubhyāṃ pariṣasvaje |
kumbhakarṇabhujābhyāṃ tu pīḍito vānararṣabhaḥ ॥6-67-27॥
Translation
He caught the very swift Rishabha in his two arms. Being crushed by the arms of Kumbhakarna, that excellent Vanara Rishabha—

उसने अत्यंत वेगवान ऋषभ को अपनी दोनों भुजाओं में जकड़ लिया। कुम्भकर्ण की भुजाओं से दबाए जाने पर वे वानर श्रेष्ठ ऋषभ—
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's embrace ('Parishasvaje') is not of affection but a noose of death. A swift warrior like Rishabha being caught in his grip shows the horror of the situation. The word 'Piditah' conveys the unbearable pressure generated by Kumbhakarna's gargantuan arms. It is a brutal form of close combat.

कुम्भकर्ण का आलिंगन (परिषस्वजे) स्नेह का नहीं, बल्कि मृत्यु का पाश है। ऋषभ जैसे वेगवान योद्धा का उसकी पकड़ में आ जाना स्थिति की भयावहता को दर्शाता है। 'पीड़ितः' शब्द उस असहनीय दबाव को व्यक्त करता है जो कुम्भकर्ण की भीमकाय भुजाओं से उत्पन्न हो रहा था। यह मल्ल-युद्ध का अत्यंत क्रूर रूप है।
