Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रक्षिप्ताः कुम्भकर्णेन वक्त्रे पातालसंनिभे ।
नासापुटाभ्यां निर्जग्मुः कर्णाभ्यां चैव वानराः ॥६-६७-३६॥
prakṣiptāḥ kumbhakarṇena vaktre pātālasaṃnibhe |
nāsāpuṭābhyāṃ nirjagmuḥ karṇābhyāṃ caiva vānarāḥ ॥6-67-36॥
Translation
The Vanaras who were thrown by Kumbhakarna into his mouth, which resembled the underworld (Patala), escaped through his nostrils and his ears.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुम्भकर्ण ने जिन वानरों को अपने पाताल के समान मुख में डाला, वे उसके नथुनों और कानों के छिद्रों से बाहर निकल आए।
English Commentary
This verse presents a fantastic and awe-inspiring description of Kumbhakarna's enormity. His mouth was so large it is compared to 'Patala' (the underworld). The escape of the Vanaras through his nostrils and ears highlights the contrast between their size and his vastness. While terrifying, the scene also offers a miraculous glimmer of hope for the Vanaras' survival.

यह श्लोक कुम्भकर्ण की विराटता का एक अद्भुत और विस्मयकारी वर्णन प्रस्तुत करता है। उसका मुख इतना बड़ा था कि उसकी तुलना पाताल से की गई है। वानरों का उसके नथुनों और कानों से निकल आना उनकी सूक्ष्मता और कुम्भकर्ण की विशालता का द्वंद्व है। यह दृश्य जहाँ एक ओर डरावना है, वहीं दूसरी ओर वानरों के बचने की एक चमत्कारिक आशा भी जगाता है।
