भक्षयन् भृशसंक्रुद्धो हरीन् पर्वतसंनिभः ।
बभञ्ज वानरान् सर्वान् संक्रुद्धो राक्षसोत्तमः ॥६-६७-३७॥
bhakṣayan bhṛśasaṅkruddho harīn parvatasaṃnibhaḥ |
babhañja vānarān sarvān saṅkruddho rākṣasottamaḥ ॥6-67-37॥
Translation
The enraged and mountain-like Kumbhakarna, the best among Rakshasas, continued devouring the monkeys and, in his fury, crushed them all.

क्रोधित और पर्वत के समान विशाल उस श्रेष्ठ राक्षस कुम्भकर्ण ने वानरों को खाना जारी रखा और क्रोध में भरकर उन सभी को कुचल डाला।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's slaughter shows no signs of stopping. The word 'Babhanja' (crushed/broke) clarifies his destructive actions. He is performing a dance of death. For the Vanara army, the situation has spiraled out of control. This verse portrays the unbridled power of Adharma attempting to swallow Truth.

कुम्भकर्ण का संहार रुकने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। 'बभञ्ज' (कुचलना या तोड़ देना) शब्द उसकी विनाशकारी क्रिया को स्पष्ट करता है। वह साक्षात् मृत्यु का ताण्डव कर रहा है। वानर सेना के लिए स्थिति अब नियंत्रण से बाहर हो चुकी है। यह श्लोक अधर्म की उस बेलगाम शक्ति का चित्रण है जो सत्य को निगलने का प्रयास करती है।
