ततस्ते वध्यमानास्तु हतयूथा विनायकाः ।
वानरा भयसंविग्ना विनेदुर्विस्वरं भृशम् ॥६-६७-४१॥
tataste vadhyamānāstu hatayūthā vināyakāḥ |
vānarā bhayasaṃvignā vinedurvisvaraṃ bhṛṣam ॥6-67-41॥
Translation
Then, with their commanders fallen and their troops scattered, the terrified Vanaras shrieked loudly in discordant and painful tones.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब अपने सेनापतियों के मारे जाने और टोलियों के बिखर जाने पर, भयभीत वानर अत्यंत बेसुरी और दर्दनाक ध्वनियों में चिल्लाने लगे।
English Commentary
The army's discipline has completely collapsed. To be 'Vinayakah' (leaderless) is the beginning of the end for any military force. The discordant ('Visvaram') shrieks of the Vanaras reveal their shattered mental balance and the peril to their lives. This is the stage of defeat where only chaos and cries of despair remain.
हिंदी टीका
सेना का अनुशासन अब पूरी तरह भंग हो चुका है। 'विनायकः' (बिना नायक के) होना किसी भी सेना के लिए अंत की शुरुआत है। वानरों की 'विसरं' (बेसुरी) चीखें उनके मानसिक संतुलन के बिगड़ने और प्राणों के संकट को प्रकट करती हैं। यह पराजय की वह स्थिति है जहाँ केवल कोलाहल और हाहाकार शेष रह जाता है।
