Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तमापतन्तं बुद्ध्वा तु युद्धमार्गविशारदः ।
लाघवान्मोचयामास बलवान् वानरर्षभः ॥६-६७-४८॥
tamāpatantaṃ buddhvā tu yuddhamārgaviśāradaḥ |
lāghavānmocayāmāsa balavān vānararṣabhaḥ ॥6-67-48॥
Translation
Perceiving that trident coming toward him, the powerful Angada, an expert in the methods of warfare, saved himself through his agility.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस शूल को अपनी ओर आते देख, युद्ध-कला में निपुण उन बलवान वानर श्रेष्ठ अंगद ने अपनी फुर्ती से स्वयं को बचा लिया।
English Commentary
Angada is described as 'Yuddhamarga-visharadah' (expert in the ways of war). Physical strength alone is insufficient; cunning and agility ('Laghava') are mandatory in battle. Angada demonstrated his intelligence by neutralizing that infallible trident. This is a testament to his superior martial education.
हिंदी टीका
अंगद को 'युद्धमार्गविशारदः' (युद्ध नीति में निपुण) कहा गया है। केवल शारीरिक बल पर्याप्त नहीं होता, युद्ध में चतुराई और फुर्ती (लाघव) भी अनिवार्य है। अंगद ने अपनी बुद्धिमत्ता का परिचय देते हुए उस अमोघ शूल को निष्फल कर दिया। यह उनकी महान युद्ध शिक्षा का प्रमाण है।
